The dock connects to a laptop through a single 10Gbps USB-C upstream port that can supply up to 140W (the laptop must support PD 3.1). It drives up to three external monitors at once, including one 8K display if the monitor supports it. Display output relies on the DisplayLink driver, and the front USB-C ports do not carry video.
For peripherals it offers two 10Gbps and one 5Gbps USB-C ports rated at 100W each, two 5Gbps USB-A ports and one 480Mbps USB-A port, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, a headphone and mic combo jack, and SD and TF card slots. Video outputs are two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort. Total output across all connected devices is 160W, shared by demand across the ports. For the full 140W to the laptop, no more than one device should be connected to the front USB-C ports.
A built-in smart display shows charging power, data transfer status, resolution, refresh rate, fan mode and settings. A fan and ActiveShield 3.0 handle cooling, and the Anker Dock Manager software provides further settings and performance management. The unit is powered from the mains through an included AC cord.
