The kit combines a kick pedal with trigger pad, a dual-zone snare, three 8" dual-zone tom pads, three 12" dual-zone cymbals and a 3-position hi-hat pedal (open, half-open, closed). The pads have a natural rubber surface intended to mimic the feel of real drum heads and reduce false triggering, and they are mounted on an extruded aluminum rack that folds for storage. Setup is tool-free, and a multi-pin cable links all pads to the sound module.
Sounds come from the HDS240USB module, which uses HDS (High Definition Sampling) with velocity-sensitive drum, percussion and cymbal sounds. It holds 175 sounds in 15 drum sets, lets the player program and store custom kits, and includes preloaded music tracks in several styles for play-along practice. An LCD display and a controls layout aimed at quick setup complete the module.
The module has a built-in USB/MIDI interface for connecting to a computer, virtual instruments, drum software and DAW recording software (not included), as well as external MIDI sound modules. An Aux input allows playing along with MP3s or other practice tracks.
