The T5 is a closed-back, circumaural flagship headphone using tilted Tesla transducers. The third generation reworks the reproduction of high mid-range frequencies so voices and instruments come across clearer. The closed housing reduces outside noise and keeps sound from leaking out, which suits busier surroundings. Its open-back sibling is the T1.
The drivers are developed, made and individually measured in Germany, then matched in pairs. Housing covers are lacquered, brushed aluminium, the yokes are anodised aluminium, and Alcantara is used on the headband. The ear pads are replaceable, with protein-coated leatherette over a multi-layer filling that includes memory foam. The headphones are Hi-Res Audio certified.
At 32 ohms, the T5 does not need a dedicated headphone amplifier. It has a detachable, double-sided 1.40 m textile-covered cable with OCC 7N copper conductors, ending in a 3.5 mm plug with a 6.35 mm adapter. Ear pads, headbands and drivers are available as spare parts.
