The R1800BT is a powered pair of bookshelf speakers built around four drivers: a 19 mm silk dome tweeter and a 4-inch (116 mm) low-frequency driver in each cabinet. A built-in Class D amplifier delivers a total of 16 W x 2 plus 19 W x 2 RMS. Dynamic Range Control (DRC) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) are used to limit and reduce distortion.
The enclosures are made from MDF to reduce distortion and minimise acoustic resonance. The cabinet is tilted back by 10 degrees so that sound is aimed toward the listener at seated height rather than straight out.
Sources can be connected wirelessly over Bluetooth from a smartphone, tablet or computer, or by cable through dual RCA inputs and an AUX connection. The listed PC input sensitivity is 700 ± 50 mV, and the signal-to-noise ratio is at least 85 dB (A).
