The iKeyboard 6X pairs a 61-key, velocity-sensitive, semi-weighted keyboard with a compact DAW control section in a metal enclosure. Pitch bend and modulation wheels, octave buttons and transpose buttons sit alongside the keys. Several velocity curves can be selected for the keys and pads.
The control section has a backlit touch fader with LED feedback that follows the DAW and updates when the selected channel changes. Illuminated rec-enable, solo and mute buttons, track and bank selection, six transport buttons and a push-and-turn encoder with an 11-segment LED ring cover panning, sends and plugin parameters. A 3-segment LED display and 18 assignable backlit buttons complete the layout.
The unit connects over USB 2.0 and is class-compliant on Windows, macOS and iOS. Mackie Control and HUI protocols are built in, with presets for common DAWs, and the iMap software allows any control to be mapped to other MIDI applications. A MIDI output jack and expression and sustain pedal inputs are provided.
