Blade Two Meta is a three-way bass reflex floor-standing speaker that places a Uni-Q driver array, with a 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter and a 125 mm aluminium midrange cone, at the centre of four 165 mm aluminium bass drivers. This Single Apparent Source layout is intended to make the speaker act as one coherent source and to spread sound evenly, so listeners in different seats hear similar detail.
The 12th generation Uni-Q uses Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a maze-like structure that absorbs unwanted sound from the rear of the tweeter. The bass drivers are mounted back to back so their kinetic forces cancel, and each pair sits in its own chamber to limit interference between the drive units. The crossover has been revised to tidy up the signal path.
The speaker is a passive design for use with an external amplifier rated 50-400 W, sold as a pair. It is engineered and handcrafted in Maidstone, UK, and comes in eight two-tone finishes. A custom enclosure colour can be specified by supplying a Pantone reference, matched with one of six standard Uni-Q cone colours.
