The D1 is a compact digital piano built around a Japanese-made Real Weighted Hammer Action 3 keybed, which is heavier in the low register and lighter toward the top. The body is about 26 cm (10.24") deep without the music rest, which makes it easy to carry. It has no built-in speakers and comes in black or white.
It holds 30 sounds, including pianos, electric pianos, organs, clavi, vibraphone, acoustic guitar and strings. The piano sound switches between four samples depending on playing dynamics. Damper resonance is modelled on the Concert, Grand and Jazz Piano sounds, and key-off simulation responds to staccato and legato playing. Layer mode combines two sounds, and touch control offers five settings. Brilliance, reverb and chorus effects are built in, with presets for each sound.
For connections, the D1 has standard-sized LINE OUT jacks for amplified speakers or recording gear, plus MIDI IN and OUT. A music rest and a compact damper pedal are supplied.
