The DJ-44G is a replacement stylus made for the M44G cartridge, a model widely used by DJs. It was developed as a new design after the earlier GD63-44G replacement was discontinued, with its specification reviewed. The aim is to keep the rugged toughness of the original 44G while giving a stronger output level and a detailed, wide-range sound.
The stylus has a 0.6 mil conical tip with a bonded diamond. The recommended tracking force is 2.0 to 3.5 g. It fits the M44G and M44-7 cartridges.
It is a drop-in spare for the cartridge body and does not need any wiring or other connections. One stylus is supplied in a small retail package of about 12 g.
