The DDJ-400 is a two-channel controller designed for learning to DJ with rekordbox. Its buttons and knobs are arranged like the maker's professional NXS2 setup, and rekordbox's Tutorial feature guides new users through the controls and basic techniques on screen.
On the sound side it offers Beat FX that follow the tempo of the playing track, plus Sound Color FX with curves taken from the DJM-900NXS2 mixer. Connecting the unit to a computer unlocks rekordbox performance features. A PC Master out option lets the mix play through the computer's speakers or connected desktop speakers while headphones cue separately. The mic input circuit is built to stay clean at high input levels.
The controller connects to a PC/Mac with the supplied USB cable, which also powers it through the built-in sound card. It also works with djay for iOS and djay Pro for PC/Mac, including streaming from TIDAL, Beatport LINK, Beatsource LINK and SoundCloud Go+. Carrying handles and a light body make it easy to transport.
