The TLE1S is a powered subwoofer from PMC's archive range. Two custom 170mm doped drivers sit at the mouth of a transmission line with an effective length of 3m, a design the maker describes as giving deeper bass from a smaller cabinet. The built-in amplifier and crossover section was designed by Bryston and delivers 150W RMS.
The frequency response runs from 22Hz to 200Hz, and the roll-off frequency is adjustable between 40Hz and 155Hz at 12dB per octave. The cabinet has a small footprint and a set of user controls, which makes placement easier in rooms where space is tight. It was designed as the low-frequency partner for the DB1 S, TB2 S, DB1S-A II, TB2S-AII and IB1 monitors in a surround configuration.
Signal connects through two balanced XLR inputs or two RCA phono inputs, each with 20k ohm input impedance. A brochure, manual and technical drawing are available as downloads. Registering the product within 10 days of purchase extends the warranty to 20 years, subject to terms.
