The twenty5.24i is the largest two-way model in PMC's twenty5i home audio line. It pairs a 170mm long-throw g-weave cone bass driver on a cast alloy chassis with a 19mm SONOMEX fabric soft-dome tweeter. The tweeter is ferrofluid cooled and has a 34mm surround and a dispersion grille. The crossover point is 1.7kHz.
Bass is handled by Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) loading, which routes the energy from the bass driver through an effective line length of 3m (9.8ft) instead of using a ported or sealed enclosure. The result is a rated frequency response of 27Hz to 25kHz from a slim cabinet. The maker says that with the grilles fitted the sound can be mistaken for that of a three-way speaker.
Connection is through one pair of 4mm binding posts. Nominal impedance is 8 ohms and sensitivity is 89dB (1W, 1m). The recommended amplifier power is 15 to 200W. The cabinet is 1015mm tall and weighs 23kg each, with spikes and plinth bars for floor placement. A 20-year warranty applies if the product is registered within 10 days of purchase.
