The KC-80 is a compact keyboard amplifier built around a 50 W power section that has been redesigned for greater stability and stronger bass compared with the earlier KC-60. It uses a two-way speaker system with a 10-inch (25 cm) woofer and a tweeter in a twin bass-reflex cabinet, aimed at stage pianos, organs, synthesizers and rhythm machines.
The onboard mixer has three 1/4-inch line channels, each with its own level knob, plus a dedicated aux input with RCA and stereo mini jacks for phones or players. Channel 1 also accepts an XLR microphone. A two-band EQ (low and high) and a master knob shape the overall sound. Metal jacks are fitted for durability.
For connecting to other gear there is a 1/4-inch line output for PA systems, monitors or recorders, and a Sub Out for a powered subwoofer whose level follows the master volume. Plugging into the Phones jack mutes the internal speakers and the Sub Out. An ST-A95 speaker stand is available separately.
