RNR1
The RNR1 is an active ribbon microphone with a figure-8 pattern, designed with Rupert Neve. It pairs a 2.5 µm aluminium ribbon with two custom transformers and discrete circuitry, aimed at studio and stage use on vocals, instruments and drums.

The RNR1 is a phantom-powered active ribbon microphone developed with Rupert Neve. Its 2.5 µm hand-tensioned aluminium ribbon sits between two custom transformers with a discrete circuit that keeps the high-frequency response extended, compensating for the roll-off typical of ribbon designs. It has a figure-8 pattern and a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range.
The flat, scalloped matte-black chassis is machined to give the ribbon an acoustically suited fit. A switchable 100 Hz low-cut filter is included, along with gold-plated XLR connectors. The body is designed to sit centred in the supplied custom shockmount, which allows close placement on drums or in a concert hall setup.
The microphone connects through a 3-pin male XLR output and needs 48 V phantom power (P48, IEC 61938). It ships in a wooden box and a metal case with a thread adapter and user manual. Suggested applications include vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, strings, piano, woodwinds, brass, drums, overheads and room.
