The EW-D ME2 Set pairs an EW-D EM half-rack receiver with an EW-D SK metal-housed bodypack transmitter and an ME 2 omnidirectional pre-polarized condenser lavalier. It transmits digitally in the UHF band, and this Q1-6 version covers 470.2–526 MHz. The microphone is built for clear speech pickup and handles sound pressure levels up to 130 dB.
The system has a 134 dB audio input dynamic range, so no sensitivity adjustment is needed. Because intermodulation between transmitters is eliminated, channels can sit on an equidistant 600 kHz grid. With 56 MHz of tuning bandwidth and 2,240 selectable frequencies, up to 90 channels can run together. An auto scan function finds a usable frequency quickly.
Setup and remote monitoring are handled through the Smart Assist app on Android or iOS, which connects over Bluetooth Low Energy. The transmitter runs on two AA batteries for up to 8 hours, or up to 12 hours with a separately sold lithium-ion pack. The receiver ships with a rackmount set, rod antennas and a power supply with country adapters.
