The CD-601mkII is a 3U half-rack CD player designed for radio and broadcast use. It plays CD-DA, CD-R and CD-RW discs and lets the presenter choose between on-line play, which feeds the on-air mixer, and monitor play, which feeds a pre-listen device. A fail-safe function guards against accidental operation during on-line playback.
Playback tools include single, continuous and program play (up to 30 tracks), incremental play, instant start, power-on play, auto ready and auto cue with five threshold levels. Up to 10 cue points can be saved per disc and triggered with flash start. Pitch can be changed by ±12.5% in 0.1% steps, and CD Text is shown on the display.
On-line mode enables the XLR balanced and AES/EBU outputs, while monitor mode enables the RCA unbalanced and S/PDIF outputs. Output level is selectable, word sync in/thru is provided, and a sample rate converter handles 48 kHz playback. The optional RC-601mkII remote adds a jog wheel for frame-accurate search, numeric keys, index search and flash starts.
