The CD-RW900SX records audio CDs from analog or digital sources and plays discs back. Recording options include gapless continuous recording, synchronized recording that starts and stops with the signal, fade-in and fade-out, a rec-mute function that writes four seconds of silence, and a sampling rate converter on the coaxial and optical inputs. Tracks can be split automatically by digital-direct detection, by time (1–10 minutes) or by input level (−24 to −72 dB), or manually with the Record key.
As a player it offers auto cue, auto ready, power-on play, pitch and key control, A-B repeat, and continuous, single, program and random modes. A RAM buffer covers up to four seconds of shock or vibration, and an emergency eject hole releases a stuck disc. Left, right and digital input levels each have their own trim control.
Connections are unbalanced RCA analog in and out, coaxial and optical S/PDIF in and out, a 6.3 mm headphone output and a PS/2 port for a keyboard (sold separately) used for control or title entry. A wireless remote is included. The unit has been discontinued.
