Eight-track digital Portastudio with a built-in hard disk and CD burner, aimed at songwriters, home recordists and school recording. It combines hands-on channel-strip controls with built-in effects and mixdown to CD without a computer.

The DP-01FX/CD records eight tracks at uncompressed CD quality onto an internal hard drive, with room for more than sixty 8-track songs. A built-in CD+RW burner and CD-ROM drive lets finished mixes be burned straight to disc, and work in progress can be backed up the same way without going through a computer first.
Each channel strip has dedicated controls for volume, pan, effect send, and high and low EQ, with a two-band semi-parametric EQ per channel. Two tracks can be recorded at once, and a dedicated stereo track is used for mixdown. An insert effects processor handles effects on an instrument while recording, and a reverb processor is available at mixdown. Editing is workstation-style: copy, paste, move, erase and silence.
Inputs are two XLR mic inputs with phantom power, two 1/4" TRS mic/line inputs and a Hi-Z guitar input. Outputs include RCA line level, S/PDIF optical digital and a headphone output, and a USB 2.0 port handles computer backup and CD burning. This model is discontinued and was replaced by the DP-03SD.
