The DP-02CF records up to eight tracks at 44.1 kHz / 16-bit uncompressed quality and stores them on Compact Flash media. Its front panel follows the classic Portastudio approach, with a fader, pan, effect send and high and low EQ controls on each channel, plus an EQ frequency button that selects the shelf frequencies. A dedicated stereo master track is used for mixdown, and an internal metronome with a bar/beat display helps with song position.
Two XLR mic/line inputs provide phantom power for condenser microphones. Monitoring is through a headphone output, and the stereo line outputs are available on RCA analog and S/PDIF optical digital connectors.
A USB 2.0 port transfers tracks, mixes and backup files to a computer. A 1GB Compact Flash card is included, which is enough for a dozen songs or more. The maker publishes a tested-media list for CF cards, a firmware update (version 1.02) and an owner's manual.
