The GO MIDI HOST acts as a bridge between USB MIDI devices and conventional MIDI hardware. A USB controller or other USB MIDI device plugged into the host is recognised straight away, so it can be used to control MIDI synthesizers, drum machines or sequencers without a computer in the signal path.
Operation is plug-and-play: no drivers or additional software are required. The unit is small enough to fit in a backpack or gig bag, which makes it practical for travel, rehearsals and gigs. It can also supply power to a connected USB device, so a separate power supply for that device is not needed.
In use, the USB device connects to the host side, and the unit links it to the MIDI hardware in the rig, extending the reach of existing gear while keeping the setup simple.
