The DNP-2000NE is a network player and digital hub for adding streaming and digital inputs to an existing audio system. It plays music from streaming services through HEOS, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer and Roon, and also plays files from a front USB-A port and over the network, including DSD, FLAC, WAV, ALAC and AIFF.
The audio section uses four ES9018K2M DAC chips in a quad configuration, with Ultra AL32 Processing and a dual clock. Analog and digital circuit boards are isolated from each other, and the analog circuit has its own power line from the transformer. A rear USB-B input lets a computer use the unit as a DAC, with PCM up to 384 kHz/32-bit and DSD up to 11.2 MHz.
For connections, there are coaxial and optical digital inputs and outputs, an HDMI ARC input for a TV, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, including re-broadcast to Bluetooth headphones or speakers. Analog output is on RCA, with both a fixed and a variable pair, and there is a headphone output and a 3-line OLED display.
