Pico Deep Freeze

The Pico Deep Freeze captures the incoming sound and holds it, so it can work as a sustain pedal for chords and notes or as a source for textures a normal guitar cannot produce. It builds on the original Freeze with layering, adjustable attack and decay, glissando and separate volume controls.

Three modes set how the footswitch behaves. Latch holds the frozen sound until the effect is bypassed, Moment holds it only while the footswitch is pressed, and Auto freezes each new note or chord automatically when the signal passes a threshold. The LED colour shows the selected mode: green for Latch, orange for Moment and red for Auto.

Dry and Effect knobs set the level of each signal separately, from a subtle backing to fully wet. Gliss controls the morph time between frozen sounds, similar to portamento on a synth. The Speed/Layer knob sets attack or decay time in Moment and Auto modes, and in Latch mode sets how much of the previous freeze is layered into the new one. The pedal is mono with one input jack and one output jack, in a small Pico enclosure, and runs from the supplied power adapter.
