Soul Preacher

The Soul Preacher is a mono, analog compressor/sustainer in a small die-cast enclosure. Two knobs and one three-way toggle cover the whole signal path: Sustain sets the amount of compression, Volume sets the make-up gain and output level, and the Attack switch sets the timing of the attack and decay. This allows anything from light levelling to heavy, extended sustain.

The Attack switch has three positions. Fast gives a rise time of about 20 ms for a pronounced initial hit, Medium gives about 50 ms for a smoother, defined response, and Slow gives about 100 ms for a softer onset.

Connection is simple: one 1/4" input jack, one 1/4" amp output jack, a footswitch with a red status LED, and true bypass when the effect is off. Power comes from a 9V battery that is supplied, or from an optional 9.6VDC 200mA adapter, which is sold separately. Current draw is 40mA.
