The RP-1600SW is a powered subwoofer with a 16-inch Cerametallic woofer driven by an internal Class D amplifier. The amplifier uses an analog preamp design that keeps the original signal path intact. The driver faces forward, so the cabinet can be positioned freely in a room, and an Aerofoil front slot port with a custom internal layout is intended to reduce air turbulence.
The cabinet is covered all round in a scratch-resistant ebony vinyl finish. Rounded corners, shock-absorbing rubber feet, steel grille posts and a woven cloth grille complete the build. The subwoofer is designed to pair with other Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers.
For cable-free placement, the optional Klipsch WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit (sold separately) can be used. Up to four WA-2 kits can link to Reference Premiere subwoofers in one room. A five-year warranty is included, and a spec sheet and product manual are available as downloads.
