Korg TM-50TR

The TM-50TR combines a chromatic tuner, a metronome and a Tone Trainer in one small unit with a large colour LCD and a backlight. Tone Trainer analyses a sustained note for pitch, dynamics (volume) and brightness, shows them live on the meter, and then plots how steady each one was. It is based on the ARTISTRY analysis technology and supports woodwinds, brass and bowed strings, but not plucked strings such as guitar, or voice.

For ear training, Sound Out plays a reference tone through the built-in speaker or headphones across three octaves, from C3 (130.81 Hz) to C6 (1046.50 Hz). Sound Back plays the reference tone closest to the incoming note while the meter shows the pitch, and it works with input from the INPUT jack or earphones. The metronome offers fifteen rhythm patterns, including duplets, triplets and quadruplets, and can run at the same time as the tuner. The periodic function alternates sounding and silent measures, in a cycle of 0 to 4 measures.

The unit has a folding rear stand, auto power-off and memory backup that keeps settings with the power off. It comes in black or silver. A contact microphone, the CM-200, is listed as a related product.
