Acton III is the smallest speaker in the Marshall Home Line III range. It uses a bass-reflex cabinet with one woofer and two tweeters, driven by Class D amplification of 30 W for the woofer and 15 W each for the tweeters. The tweeters are angled outward and use updated waveguides to widen the stereo image. A built-in Dynamic Loudness function adjusts the tonal balance as the volume changes.
Controls sit on the top panel: source button, volume knob, bass and treble knobs, play/pause button, a skip forward/back control and a power switch. The EQ can be set on the speaker itself, or in the Marshall Bluetooth app for iOS and Android, which also provides sound customisation, Placement Correction and over-the-air software updates.
It connects over Bluetooth 5.2, with readiness for Bluetooth LE Audio, or through a 3.5 mm wired input. There is no Wi-Fi, microphone, voice control or RCA input. It runs as a stand-alone unit and cannot be paired with other Marshall speakers in groups or pairs. It is available in five colours, and the cover material is vegan-friendly leather-like material.
