The 260D is a CD transport built around a proprietary disc drive that sits on a gel-based four-point floating suspension to damp vibration. The DAC board is optional and can be added later. A transport-only T version is offered for people who already own a DAC.
When the DAC is fitted, it is a true 32-bit asynchronous converter with upsampling. The unit has two digital outputs (S/PDIF and AES/EBU) and, for use as a standalone DAC, two S/PDIF inputs and one TosLink input. MQA data on a disc is passed through the digital output so that an MQA-certified DAC can decode it.
The box includes an AC power cable, the CRM-3 remote with two CR-2032 batteries, a SimLink cable with 1/8 in mini plugs on both ends, and the owner's manual. The chassis measures 42.9 x 8.6 x 33.3 cm and weighs 7.5 kg when shipped.
