The TX-NR7100 is a nine-channel AV receiver rated at 100 W per channel into 8 ohms (2-channel driven, FTC). It plays back Dolby Atmos and DTS:X in 5.2.4 and 7.2.2 layouts and is IMAX Enhanced certified. Dirac Live room correction is built in, and the supplied wired microphone works with a smartphone. A computer app with a third-party USB microphone is also supported. The receiver offers four THX listening modes: cinema, gaming, music and surround EX.
Six HDMI inputs and the main output handle HDMI 2.1 features including VRR, ALLM, QFT, DSC and eARC. Inputs 1-3 and the main and sub outputs accept 8K/60 and 4K/120, and a front HDMI input is limited to 4K/60. A sub/Zone 2 HDMI output feeds a second display, and Zone 3 has discrete switching for analog and network sources. Klipsch Optimize Mode applies preset crossover values for selected Klipsch Reference and Reference Premiere speakers.
Network and wireless features include dual-band Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, DTS Play-Fi, Works with Sonos certification (a Sonos Port is sold separately), and built-in Spotify, Amazon Music HD, Pandora, TIDAL, Deezer and TuneIn. Bluetooth works in both directions: receiving over SBC or AAC and transmitting to headphones over SBC, aptX or aptX HD.
