Warm Lifter

The Warm Lifter sits between a low-output microphone and a mixer or interface, supplying analog gain ahead of the converters. It uses a balanced JFET input with a 2.4k Ohm impedance, intended to ease the mismatch between quiet mics and the preamp that follows, which can otherwise cause signal loss, a changed frequency response or phase problems.

It provides 26dB of gain, so the downstream device does not need to be pushed deep into its own digital gain range, where artifacts and a thinner sound become more likely. The extra headroom also helps with long cable runs. Two switchable tone controls are included: a 100Hz high-pass filter to reduce low-end buildup and proximity effect, and a 3kHz high-shelf boost to add clarity to darker-sounding ribbons and dynamics.

Each unit is hand tested and inspected at the maker's headquarters in Austin, Texas. It is designed for both studio and stage use, and a manual and product registration are available from the maker.
